BidBid Protection
If an item isn't what the seller said it was, BidBid makes it right. Every purchase on bidbid.ca is covered by BidBid Protection: when a seller's description is materially wrong and you report it within the coverage window, BidBid refunds you — directly, to your original payment method, through Stripe. You deal with us, not a dispute with a stranger.
Step one: test it before you leave
The strongest protection is the two minutes you spend at the counter. Open the box. Power it on. Count the parts. Our pickup locations expect you to do this — and anything wrong at that moment gets fixed on the spot: wrong item, visible damage, missing pieces, dead on arrival. This is the moment when everything is provable and everyone is standing in the same room.
Because of that, two rules apply once an item leaves the store:
- Wrong-item claims are not accepted after pickup. Verifying you received the correct item is exactly what the counter check is for.
- Missing-part and not-working claims made after leaving are reviewed case by case. These are difficult to verify after the fact — testing at pickup protects you completely; claiming later may not.
For home deliveries, your doorstep is your counter: open and test the item the day it arrives, and photograph any problem immediately.
The 7-day description guarantee
You have 7 days from pickup or delivery to open a claim if the item is significantly different from the listing — a different model than described, a condition materially worse than stated, or defects the listing did not disclose. If your claim is right, BidBid covers you: a full or partial refund to your original payment method, at no cost to you. The seller's side of it is our problem, not yours.
What's not covered
BidBid is a liquidation marketplace — items are sold in the condition the listing describes, at prices that reflect it. When an item matches its description, the sale is final; any return or exchange is at the seller's discretion, and we're happy to pass your request along. Change of mind, fit or compatibility, and flaws that were clearly disclosed in the listing are not Protection claims. Items forfeited or refunded under the pickup-window rules of the Terms & Conditions are handled there, not here.
How to make a claim
Within 7 days of receiving the item, go to Contact Us (or message us from your account) with your invoice number, a short description of what differs from the listing, and photos showing the issue. We review claims quickly — most within two business days — and if we need the item back, we'll arrange it. Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the payment method you used.
BidBid Protection is part of our Terms & Conditions and applies to purchases made and fulfilled through bidbid.ca.
